Privacy Policy
At Cealune, your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our store, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please take a few minutes to read it — we’ve tried to keep it plain and honest.
1. Information we collect
We only collect information you give us directly or that we need to run the store. Specifically:
Information you give us
- Account details — when you sign up, we ask for your name, email, and password (passwords are hashed, not stored as text).
- Order details — when you place an order, we collect your shipping address, billing address, and contact phone number so we can deliver your package.
- Payment information — if you pay by card, your card details are processed securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number on our servers.
- Customer messages — when you message us through live chat, the contact form, or by email, we keep that conversation so we can help you and follow up.
- Reviews and content — if you leave a product review, the review text and your display name are public on the product page.
- Newsletter signups — if you subscribe, we store your email so we can send you the emails you asked for.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data — we log your IP address, browser type, and operating system to help us debug issues and prevent fraud.
- Usage data — pages you visit, products you view, and items you add to your cart, so we can improve the shopping experience.
- Session cookies — small files that keep you logged in and remember your cart between visits. See section 3 for more.
2. How we use your information
We use your information for clearly defined purposes:
- To process your orders, take payment, and ship your purchases.
- To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To send marketing emails (only if you’ve subscribed) about new products, promotions, and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
- To personalize your experience — for example, showing you the items you recently viewed.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to protect our store and other customers.
- To comply with the law — for example, keeping records of sales for tax purposes.
We do not sell your personal information. Period.
5. How we keep your data safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information:
- All connections to our site are encrypted with HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we never see or store your actual password.
- Payment data is handled by our payment provider and never touches our servers in a stored form.
- Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it for their work.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever occurred, we would notify affected customers and the relevant authorities promptly.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as we need it:
- Account data — while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, after which we’ll erase your personal details (orders are kept for tax-record reasons but stripped of personally identifying info).
- Order records — for at least 5 years for tax and audit purposes.
- Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
- Customer support conversations — for 12 months, then archived.
7. Your rights and choices
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong — you can update most details in My Account.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Export your data in a common format.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Object to certain types of processing.
To exercise any of these rights, just contact us. We’ll respond within 30 days.
8. Children’s privacy
Our store is not intended for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re a parent or guardian and you believe your child has given us personal information without your consent, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. International users
If you’re visiting our site from outside the country where our servers are hosted, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed elsewhere. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is treated with the same level of protection wherever it’s processed.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, if the changes are significant, we’ll let you know by email or with a notice on the site.
